One More Week

I dropped him off this morning. They are going on a training cruise before their deployment to the Gulf. The scene this morning at 5am was almost like they were leaving for the real deployment. The traffic going onto the base was horrible for it being that early in the morning. I also so families saying good bye to their sailors. It was hard for me to let him go, even if it's just for a short period.

Countdown Begins

He leaves for another deployment soon. I'm sad and worried for him. I know it will be difficult for him to be so far away from all his loved ones. I hope that he's not lonely while he's on the ship. I'm glad he has a couple of friends(Bacon and Strong) on the ship that will (hopefully) keep his morale up.
I plan to send him lots of cards and care packages.

For this deployment, I think he has many duties. He will take on more responsibilities in his division and in the shop. I'm extremely proud of him! Thank you for your service to our country!

As for where he's heading....not sure yet. I hear rumors of Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Australia. But those are only rumors. We'll know more once his ship leaves. I hope he gets to visit more new, exciting ports. He's so blessed to have the opportunity to see the world.
